Style Spectrm: Alley Dwellers

For so long we've been told that double denim is a fashion 'no-no', an atrocity of the past that should never be repeated again. Only in these recent years has mainstream fashion reintroduced double denim as a wearable style in their catalogue. We present to you two looks, equal parts urban and contemporary that say hey, double denim is here to stay!

Chelsea wears a loose, black top, which is worn to the effect of a boxy, muscle tank - knotted at the bottom to make it a mid-drift. She pairs this with mid-waisted shorts and her classic white hi-top chucks. Her jacket is chunky and oversized, everything a timely denim piece should be. An outfit to run errands in, all the while looking too cool to be doing so. She also accessories using an accent colour of rustic browns to contrast against the denim blues.

Yanni sports a tight turtleneck, crop tank and high-waisted light denim cut-offs. Finished off with her Nike Mid-Blazers, this is the quintessential contemporary urban skater look. While Chelsea displays a dual tone of black and classic blue, Yanni's get up creates another intersection of colour - light blue, classic, and black.

We've gone pretty matchy matchy with these outfits, opting for a basic top and denim bottom look. Chelsea rocks the more classic denim hue - while Yanni wears light bottoms, contrasting her black denim sleeved denim jacket. These looks emit a particularly youthful vibe, juvenile and careless, especially in front of the graffiti wall.
