Welcome to Style Spectrm!

Welcome to the first blog post of Style Spectrum! A neat little fashion hub where we show you that even though fashion, however you may construct yourself aesthetically, may speak to each individual in different ways, it is still able to unify even the radicals of both ends. Put simply, we value style as an exploration and celebration of personal creativity that is able to be indulged by all. But, enough talk for now (:

First things first, we would like to introduce ourselves, so go right ahead and click on the 'About Us' tab. For our first post we wanted to show you our ‘signature look’- an outfit we would casually throw on any day and one that we feel confident, comfortable and stylish in.
While both outfits may seem similar in a monochromatic scheme of wear - a style we both tend to sport in our everyday looks -  there is a definite contrast in the 'feel', or rather, mood between the outfits.

Yanni wears repurposed mens jeans, oversized and well ripped, yet she is still able to retain a nonchalant femininity through the long sleeved tight crop. Its slight sheerness adds to her signature style, which is aptly reinforced by an amethyst choker matching her purple locks, giving her a slight grunge-esque edge. Very cool.

Whereas I, Chelsea, am wearing a more ‘put together’ look, not as laid back as Yanni’s effortless get up. I've matched these two separate pieces of similar material to create a coordinated look. The clean lines and blocked colours provide a contrast to Yanni’s ripped denim. But together, both outfits complement each other, because of our basic 2-toned dark/white colour palette and casually cool high top kicks.

It was heaps of fun shooting this, and a big thanks to May for taking the photos with her amazing phone. Her height also hits the perfect angle for making us look tall  (; cheers man!

As a precursor, we will mention that each shoot will revolve around a central concept, one that unifies as well as highlights the, for the most part, different aesthetics of minimal, sport chic vs a subdued urban grunge. But for now, we hope we've piqued your interest with features of our signatures styles, and we absolutely cannot wait for all you out there to see what other looks we have in stall!
